Others: Find Your Road, Find Your People
The lawyer asked the right question.
And who is my neighbour? Luke 10:29
Jesus answered with a story.
A man went down from Jerusalem to Jericho. He fell among thieves. He was stripped, wounded, and left for dead. Three men came by. Two kept walking. One stopped.
That choice is the subject of this book.
Others: Find Your Road, Find Your People walks the Jericho road from beginning to end. Each chapter examines one character, one choice, or one truth from the parable of the Good Samaritan and drives it toward honest personal application.
This book addresses the questions that sit beneath the surface of the passage.
Why do others matter?
What does a person actually see when he looks at someone in need?
What do his choices reveal about his real priorities?
How close is he willing to come?
What closes the heart against compassion?
What does likewise actually require?
You will meet the priest who saw a wounded man and crossed to the other side. You will sit with the wounded man in the ditch. You will watch the Samaritan open his hands and make a promise before he knew the final cost.
And you will have to answer the question the lawyer could not escape.
Will you become a neighbor?
The road is not ancient history. It runs through your street, your neighborhood, your church, and the nations beyond your reach. The wounded are already on it.
All Scripture quotations are from the King James Version of the Bible.
